Mitten's Travel Plaza
History
Jim asked Gary and Toni if they would come back from college and operate it and
they accepted. By 1982 we had the canape', became Texaco and we had added a wash bay and started washing trucks. In 1990 's we closed the wash bay and remodeled and the bays became offices, showers and a dining room for the cafe'. The shop was relocated southeast of the truck stop into a 4 bay shop with wash bay. We are half way between Denver and Kansas City on Interstate Highway #70 and are one of the major truck stops between Denver and Kansas City in the state of Kansas. Jack Mitten Family ran the restaurant from the early 70's until Jack retired in 1998. Jerry joined Mitten Inc. in 1995 and that is when the bulk oil delivery was established. |
